Vegan Feasts are a primary way that Awali joins together with our community members and volunteers in the spirit of communion. Our vegan feasts introduce people to a vegan diet and show the correlation between veganic farm work and bountiful, nourishing harvests that are not only feasible, but delicious.
In addition to the volunteer day feasts, with our collective of farmers, we partner with restaurants and chefs to offer free plant-based meals to the wider community. Attendees are introduced to skilled professionals and given the opportunity to work with and learn from them. These feasts are semiannual, free, and accessible to all. In addition to being a unifying experience, feasts and workdays serve to introduce gardening skills and plant-based meal preparation in ways that are engaging and collective.
